Observações: Frequente em toda a Amazonia. Árvore altamente ornamental, prestando-se ao embelezamento de parques e jardins

Floração: Na época da floração, desenvolvem-se numerosas inflorescencias pelo tronco, desde alguns decimetros do solo, até aos ramos, dando a impressão de uma béla coluna ornamentada com grandes e vistosas flôres, cujo colorido, contrasta com a casca pardacenta do tronco e ainda com o verde brilhante das folhagens. Seu traço caracteristico, que facilita sua identificação, é, pois, o de ser cauliflóra. Floresce desde Outubro a Fevereiro.
Common in the Amazon region; a highly ornamental tree, suitable for the embellishment of parks and gardens. At blossoming season, inflorescences issue from the trunk beginning a few decimeters from the soil, up to the branches of its dense crown; so that its stem looks like a beautiful column decorated with large and beautiful flowers. Their color, from a distance, is a ruddy red, and contrasts with the greyish bark and the brilliant green foliage. The characteristic feature of inflorescences issuing from the trunk facilitates its identification. Flowers from October to February.

COCHLOSPERMUM ORINOCENSE Steud.
(Cochlospermaceae).

Nome vulgar: “PERIQUITEIRA”.

Observações: Salienta-se pelos atributos ornamentais peculiares. Propria para parques e jardins. É frequente na Amazonia.

Floração: Quando em flôr, desguarnece-se inteiramente das fôlhas e apresenta formosa floração côr de ouro. Floresce em Outubro.

This tree is remarkable for its ornamental qualities; suitable for parks and gardens; common in the Amazon region; flowers in October, at which time the tree loses its leaves entirely, and shows a beautiful golden florescence.

LOPHANTERA LACTESCENS Ducke.
(Malpighiaceae.)

Observações: Árvore de bela apresentação em grupo. A cópa forma normalmente um cone alongado. Própria para avenidas, parques e jardins. Habita a Amazonia. Desenvolve-se bem no Distrito Federal.

Floração: Inflorescencias cilindricas e pendentes. Flôres amarélas. Floresce nos mêses de Agosto e Setembro..

The crown of this tree has the shape of an elongated cone; it is suitable for avenues, parks and gardens; it comes from Amazonia region, but it grows quite well in the Federal District. Hanging, cylindrical inflorescences bearing yellow flowers, blooming in August-September.
