ANNA HELD
Nascida
em 1873 e considerada uma das mais belas coquetes francesas da virada
do século, Anna Held destacou-se como atriz de variedades e comédias
musicais. Fez numerosas apresentações entre 1889 e 1916,
em famosos teatros de Paris, Londres e Nova Iorque.
Insinuante, cantando em
um de seus espetáculos no Palace Theatre de Londres em 1895, com
um espelho na mão e iluminando com o seu reflexo o rosto dos homens
na platéia, Anna Held chamou a atenção de Florenz
Ziegfeld (1868-1932), que a levou para os Estados Unidos no ano seguinte,
tornando-a sua esposa e uma estrela do American Vaudeville. Segundo seu
marido e empresário, numa astuciosa declaração publicitária
a imprensa, a bela atriz francesa tomava banhos diários de leite
fresco para conservar pele macia.
Radicada na América,
entre seus maiores sucessos na Broadway figuraram: A Parlor March (1896),
Papa's Wife (1899), The Little Duchess (1901), Mlle. Napoleon (1903) e
The Parisien Model (1906). Divorciada, Anna Held faleceu em Nova Iorque
a 12 de agosto de 1918.
ANNA HELD
Born
in 1873 and considered to be one of the most beautiful French coquettes
at the turn of the century, Anna Held stood out as a vaudeville and musical
comedy actress. She made several appearances in famous Paris, London and
New York theatres between 1889 na 1916.
Ingratiantingly singing
during one of her shows at the London Palace Theatre, in 1895 a mirror
in hand, she shined its reflex on the faces of men who were sitting in
the audience, a fact that called the attention of Florence Ziegfeld (1868-1932)
who took her to the United States the next year and married her, turning
her into a star of American Vaudeville. According to a statement cunningly
made by her husband to the publicity press agents, the beautiful French
actress took daily baths in fresh milk in order to keep her skin soft.
Raticated in America,
we can point out among her great successes: A Parlor Match (1896), Papa'
s Wife (1899), The little Duchess (1901), Mlle.Napoleon(1903) and The
Parisian Model (1906). Divorced, Anna Held died in New York on August
12, 1918.
